Sugar bowls as a legal maxim
In United States constitutional law, the sugar bowl is part of a legal maxim relating to the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which is that "if you are looking for stolen televisions, you cannot look in sugar bowls". This describes the relationship between what is described in a search warrant and the persons or things that may be searched as a consequence.
